Permission

Permission Lab • playful mountain retreat invites you to give yourself permission:

Say no.
Clearly. Softly. Bluntly. Without guilt, without explanation, without apology.

Say yes.
Fully. Fiercely. Messily. Sensually. Even if you’ve never said it before.

Not know.
Show up unsure, confused, or hesitant — and still be fully here.

Take up space.
Loudly or quietly. Naked or wrapped in five layers. Stretching, sighing, stimming, ecstatic, still.

Be awkward.
Because awkwardness means you’re real. And realness is what we’re here for.

Be confident.
And unapologetically show the world that you are.

Hold on.
Pause. Doubt. Not decide yet. Need more time.

Not shave.
To shave or not to shave: your body, your rules.

Change your mind.
Mid-sentence. Mid-workshop. Mid-kiss.

Not wear make-up.
Celebrate the natural face that greets you in the mirror.
Feel confident because of who you are, not because of how you are perceived.

Dress up.
Femme fatale red lipstick, majestic eyelashes, glitter or silk, power boots or bare chest, softness or sharpness. Wear what makes you feel radiant, according to your vibe of the moment. Because expression is fluid, and so are you.

Be ordinary.
Not be magical, enlightened, activated, or upgraded. Just… human.

Be quirky.
Share your personality quirks, your neurodivergent quirks, your gender expression quirks, and stand for them.

Feel aroused.
Without needing to act on it, justify it, or explain where it came from.

Experiment.
Learn, try, connect with your shadows.
Dominate, submit. Tie, be tied.
Trust the message of your body, even if it’s new.

Let your body speak.
In breath, in movement, in stillness, in sound. Whether anyone’s watching or not.

Activities

Permission Lab • playful somatic mountain retreat invites you into a full-bodied, full-hearted, immersive week of exploration.
We’ll hike through lush alpine meadows, rest by wild streams, and breathe mountain air that clears more than just your lungs. There’ll be time to swim, nap, stretch, or sit with your feet in cold water and your face in the sun.

We’ll practise grounding that meets you where you are. Meditations that open space without pressure. (And yes, we welcome short attention spans, stimming bodies, and restless legs. No “Ohmm” for 30 minutes, motionless.) Simple rituals will help root you in the moment.

Our days flow between movement and stillness, sensation and connection. Workshops explore boundaries, consent, conscious power dynamics, rope play, impact play, emotional negotiation, and body-based communication. All at your pace, always with agency.

Evenings are a mix of candlelight circles, shared meals, sensual rituals, laughter, vulnerability, sauna and playful experimentation. Sometimes we’ll dress up. Sometimes we’ll dress down. Sometimes we’ll just be.

You don’t need to arrive confident, kinky, or “ready.”
Just bring intention.

Location

We’ll be in a valley that only exists for those who know it exists.
Not a touristic place. No villages, no hotels. Just a narrow road (partly unpaved, only one car wide) winding into quiet.

We’re not the only souls in the valley. Here and there, scattered across the slopes, are summer farms (our hut is one of them) in use or resting, depending on the season. We’re stepping into the centuries-old rhythm of transhumance.

The valley can be romantic, lush, and friendly – and then wild and untamed. There are fast streams and steep rock walls, still lakes and fluffy meadows. The altitudes aren’t extreme; our hikes will rarely go beyond 2,100 metres. Yet we can choose to take on exposed and challenging trails, or stay with gentler paths through forest and field.
A beautiful mountain lake will not be skipped. Whether you dip in or witness, you’ll be part of the moment.

We’re in the central part of Switzerland, and the start of the valley is easily reached by public transport.

Accommodation

Our Mountain Hut: Unpolished, Unplugged, Unapologetic

It’s a simple mountain hut (It’s actually a farm, not a touristic infrastructure) at 1.300 metres, nestled in a valley with no villages, just some summer farms, and Nature.
Totally off-grid: no electricity, no Wi-Fi, no signal.

And that’s exactly what allows us to connect: with ourselves, with each other, and with the land. We have the hut just for ourselves.
We cook together on a wood stove, gather around a rustic table, sleep in shared rooms or the hayloft, and wash in the only luxury it offers: a warm shower. Our home for the week is warm, dry, and cozy. We choose simplicity because it allows us to expand into realness, and to feel into what truly matters.

In and around the house clothing is optional. It’s a gentle invitation to feel freedom in your own skin, if it feels right for you [Read FAQ]. The same goes for the unique Crazy Camp Slow Sauna, where we will warm up and ground.

Sleeping is communal: we have two cozy bedrooms with 4 beds each, and more space in the hayloft layered with mattresses, perfect for those who love soft landings and rustic vibes.

To keep things fair and low-pressure, we draw lots on the first evening to assign sleeping spots. It’s our way of making sure even the quietest voices have an equal place. Curious how it works? The [FAQ].has you covered. Sleeping areas are mixed-gender and shared. That might sound challenging, but many find ease and a surprising sense of connection here. If you have any specific needs around sleep, space, sensory sensitivities, or emotional comfort, please let me know when you apply or anytime before the week. We’ll do our best to support you with care and without judgement.

Indeed there’s no electricity; but plenty of togetherness and warmth. If you rely on certain electronic devices for regulation or sleep, let me know beforehand. There may be creative ways to support you. I recommend bringing a power bank (charged beforehand), and maybe a solar charger if you need minimal access for essential devices.

No smoking in the house or in the sauna.

Wonderings and whispered questions

If you’re seriously feeling the call to join, it’s essential that you read these. If you’re just browsing for now: feel free to skip.

Permission Lab • playful somatic mountain retreat invites you to arrive with intention.
We invite you to read this not to check boxes, but to feel into the field you’re stepping into.

• The basics

Is this for me?

This gathering invites to drop in faster: not by pushing, but by showing up with whatever’s alive in you. It’s for you if you want to be met in your curiosity, your awkwardness, your edges – and if you are willing to meet others the same way.

You don’t need experience in conscious kink, bodywork, or group spaces. Just a willingness to be in your body, to stay curious, and to trust the process more than the plan.

It’s for us who are tired of playing roles. Tired of managing, performing, pretending. Tired of waiting for someone to give us permission to take up space that was ours to begin with — to feel, to ask, to say no, to say yes.

This is a space for realness. Come as you are. [And we mean it]

The space is held with care — not to direct the group, but to let it unfold. Together, we shape something honest, playful, and real.

Is this a conscious kink retreat?

It is... and also, not...
This is not a “kink gathering” with protocol and labels and latex (unless you bring your latex shorts yourself 😉). And it’s definitely not about performing or impressing anyone.

What this is, is a space where we explore sensation, connection, power, tenderness, boundaries, and play. With real attention to consent, emotional integrity, and the art of navigating yes and no through the body.

Many elements are inspired by conscious kink practices (things like impact play, simple rope, power exchange) but always with the same flavour as the Crazy Camps: playful, slow, grounded, emotionally honest, and optional.

You don’t need to be “into kink” or have any experience. You just need a willingness to meet yourself and others through the body, not through performance.

This is the fast lane to radical self-acceptance. Not by adding more to who we are, but by making space for what’s already there.
We honour the strategies that kept us safe and give ourselves permission to not be ruled by them. This isn’t about levelling up. It’s about landing deeper.
(Not floaty. Not dressed in white. Just real.)

What level of kink experience do I need?

None. Really. You don’t need to know any terms, techniques, or roles. If you’re new, you’ll be gently introduced to the magic — through consent-based play, embodied practice, and slow, supported exploration.

If you’re experienced, you’re welcome too. Not to show off, but to show up. There’s no ranking, no gatekeeping. You’ll likely find yourself learning and inspiring, sometimes in the same breath.

Whether you’re curious, cautious, or kinky-to-the-bone: what matters is your presence, not your résumé.

Can I join if I’m not queer?

The Permission Lab is a space that centres queer folks. Not by excluding anyone, but by creating an ecosystem where voices, bodies, and ways of being that are often pushed to the margins are simply… central.

If you’re not queer or genderqueer, you’re still very welcome – as long as you’re as curious about us as you are about yourself. This space thrives on presence, not perfection.

Wondering how to show up in queer-focused events? Read the blog post

• Kink & Consent

What if I feel awkward or unsure during a kink-related activity?

That’s normal. Really normal.
Practices like impact play, ropes, or power dynamics can bring up a lot: excitement, resistance, memories, confusion, curiosity, embarrassment.

  • You might blush. You might laugh when you didn’t mean to.
  • You might feel aroused and unsure what to do with that.
  • You might not feel anything at all, and wonder if that’s okay. (It is.)
  • You’re allowed to feel awkward. You’re allowed to take a break.
  • You’re allowed to not know.

Consent is alive. Agency is real. Your yes, no, or “not right now” are not up for negotiation and never need to be justified.
This isn’t a performance space. It’s a space to explore. With presence, curiosity, and choice. Your process, whatever shape it takes, is valid.

And, just as importantly, these practices can also bring calm. Groundedness. Joy. Laughter. Deep connection to your body.
And are the fast lane to radical self-acceptance.

What about switching partners during activities?

• We’ll often switch partners during workshops and activities. That means you’ll likely share some exercises involving physical closeness (and often touch) with someone of the same gender. If that’s something you’re not ready for, this might not be the right experience for you.
• In workshops that involve giving and receiving, we’ll also switch roles between giver and receiver. For example, you might first tie up your exercise partner, and then swap roles.

While switching partners is encouraged to support connection and diversity, you’re always welcome to skip or modify an activity if something doesn’t feel right for you. Consent isn’t just about touch. It’s about your pace, your presence, and your ability to opt in or out without pressure.

It’s also completely okay to not want to do a particular activity with a specific person. Part of our opening circle on the first day includes naming this (with kindness) as a shared understanding. Your preferences and boundaries don’t need to be justified, and they’re not a judgment on anyone else. We hold that with clarity, not shame.

Is this a sex camp?

No, it is not a sex camp. There may be moments of sensual energy.
There may be nudity, connection, arousal, or even consensual sex.
But sex is never a goal — and definitely never an expectation. This is not a hunting ground. We don’t perform for each other. And we don’t make assumptions about anyone’s desire or consent.
Consensual sex? All good. Just not during workshops or when it’s your turn to do the dishes. Also not in the dorms when others try to get their rest. Thank you!.

Our advice for seekers:

If you’re looking for sex, you’ll probably be annoyed here. Better book a TUI trip to Ibiza — you’ll get more of it there, and with less hiking 😉

• Body & nudity

Will people be naked all the time?

Nope. Not all the time. And never required. So maybe even never! As with other Permission Labs, clothing is optional. This simply means: you’re free to wear what feels good, also if that’s nothing. Nudity might happen in some workshops, in and around the hut, during the sauna, or in body-based exercises and play. It’s not performative or stylised. It’s just bodies being bodies.

You’re never expected to undress. And “I want to be naked” doesn’t imply “I want to be sexualised.” Your body, your rules.

What about body-positivity?

Yessssss! Fully. Not the Instagram version – the actual version, where every body is welcome. No need to tone, shave, squeeze, or polish.
Soft bellies, folds, stretch marks, scars, hair, gender expression, neurodivergence: all of it belongs. You don’t need to look a certain way to deserve to be seen, to be touched with care, to receive softness. You are not a project to be improved. You are. And that’s enough.

🩸 By the way: this is a space where your period doesn’t need to be hidden. There’s no need to perform cheerfulness, and free bleeding is welcome. The expression of your body isn’t taboo here.

• Emotions & expectations

Will I be judged?

The Permission Labs strive to be a judgement-free zone. But since there’s no button to turn judgement off, we create that space together.

You won’t be judged for being too much, too quiet, too glittery, too shy, too naked, too clothed. Or anything in between.
Not by the group, not by the facilitators, and hopefully not by yourself.
The invitation is to offer that same gift to others.

Will flashes of judgement still arise? Of course. We’re humanoids.
But here, we meet them with breath, not blame.
We get curious, not critical. That’s how we unlearn.

This is a space where you don’t need to perform, prove, or impress.
You get to be messy, awkward, bold, soft; whatever is present in you.

When words add nothing, let’s stay silent. Let the body speak.

Can I come with my partner?

Yes, you’re welcome, as long as you’re willing to participate as two individuals.

That means: for most activities, you’ll be invited to partner with different people. You’re welcome to check in, debrief, or share private moments outside the group flow, but we ask couples to avoid becoming a “satellite bubble” inside the retreat.

This space thrives on openness, curiosity, and shared energy, not orbiting pairs. You’ll still be walking the path side by side. Even if your hands aren’t always joined.

What’s the joining process? And what if I can’t be there the whole time?

This isn’t a drop-in retreat. It’s a living, breathing group process, and the way we shape it together depends on who shows up, and how. Before joining, everyone fills in an application. And before confirming your place, we’ll have a video call. It’s not an audition; it’s a moment to feel whether the intentions align. That way, when the Lab begins, you’re not stepping into the unknown. The group is already holding a shared thread. If it is logistically possible, we will also have a video call all together around one week before the event

The idea is that everyone arrives on the first day...
It’s when the group field starts to form, and your presence really matters. If arriving late is truly the only option, talk to us and we’ll see if it’s workable.

… and leaves on the last day.
But of course you’re always free to leave early. For example if something urgent pulls you away, or because this gathering just isn’t for you after all. If that moment comes, we’ll support you with logistics and care. No pressure–always your decision.

• Healing, but not therapy

Is this therapy? Is this healing?

No and kind of. This is not a therapy retreat. But that doesn’t mean it can’t be healing.

We don’t diagnose, label, or dissect. We explore.
There is no promise of transformation. But realness has a way of bringing it.

Think of it as a space where your nervous system can breathe, and your body can remember what it already knows. After all, healing often just means showing up real, and being met there.

We care deeply. If something big comes up for you, we’ll be around for grounding check-ins, witnessing, holding space, and presence.

If you know you’re working through trauma, we invite you to reach out before joining. We’ll gently explore together whether this space feels like it could feel resourcing, co-regulating, and right for where you are right now. We don’t promise a perfect container. But we do tend to it with attention, openness, and care.

If you are having mental health issues, please read this FAQ entry

Please do read the general Permission Lab FAQ as well :)

Who's inviting us here?

On an energetic level, we're invited by the field itself: shaped by all of us, even before we meet.
On a practical level: it’s Kim (front in the picture) and Klaas (back in the picture).

Kim

"I am an intimacy coach and therapist who has been walking the path of tantra since 2016 and have been exploring conscious kink since 2020. I have completed several trainings in both areas, including the School of Shakti’s year-long training and facilitator training, a course in tantric domination, a course in shibari, and an extensive course in Tantric Dance. I am also a certified body-oriented therapist. I have lived in and visited several tantric communities during my travels, and I have been giving workshops and sessions on and off for several years.

In recent years, my journey has included exploring power dynamics and rope-play (shibari), which drew my attention to the great potential these practices have for play and fun, while also integrating more parts of myself. This has allowed me to become a more whole and integrated human being along the way.

In my intimacy work and the spaces I hold, I weave together the tools of conscious kink and tantra with my therapeutic and somatic background. My approach is gentle, embodied, and playful — with space for both depth and enjoyment.

At this Permission Lab, I (together with Klaas) will guide you through a playful journey into the world of conscious kink. Expect elements such as energetic role play, shibari, and impact play — all held within a safe and grounded container.

✨ What to expect:
• A soft introduction to conscious kink
• Opportunities to discover new aspects of yourself
• Fun, hands-on tools to explore and play with
• A reliable and held space to move at your own pace"

Klaas

"If you’ve been to a Permission Lab or a Crazy Camp before, you probably already know a lot about me. I’m not leading from above; I’m walking alongside: nurturing, inviting, sometimes holding a mirror, sometimes simply holding the door open.

I’ve hosted over 55 of these gatherings, and each one has deepened my trust: in groups, in spaces, and in the quiet intelligence that moves between us when we show up real.

I’m not a certified facilitator or trained therapist. I’ve learned by doing: by listening, by holding space, by being in the mess of it with others, and by staying honest about my own humanness. If you knew my full story, you might not recognise the details, but I think you’d recognise the feelings. I’ve known both joy and disconnection, rupture and repair. My path hasn’t been linear or polished But it’s taught me how to sit with contradiction, and to welcome what’s real – not just what looks good.

I’ve given rope play workshops, have years of conscious kink experience, and held a lot of group processes. But more than methods or tools, what I bring is presence. And a deep trust that, with the right container, people can meet themselves with more honesty, compassion, and permission than they thought possible.

I don’t stand in front of the group. I walk with it. And for this part of the path, I’ll help control the fire, hold the edges with care, and gently invite you to bring your full self. The parts that shine. And the parts you usually keep tucked away.

Also this: I’m a white, middle-aged, European man. That comes with a lot of privilege, and, inevitably, blind spots. I care deeply about creating a space that’s free from sexism, racism, queerphobia, or other forms of harm. Not through perfection, but through practice. If I miss something, or you feel something land in a way that doesn’t feel good, I would like to hear it. I’ll do my best to listen, learn, and make it right – not just for you, but for the group. This space is about unlearning as much as it is about expression. That goes for me, too."

Pure & Clean

Let’s enjoy this marvelous adventure on this majestic mountain without any stimulants! We will refrain from consuming alcohol and drugs. Our body will take care of generating adrenaline, endorphins, serotonin, dopamine and lots of oxytocin for happy vibes :) ► Read more here.

LOW RADIATION • In the hut and directly around there is no, or very limited, GSM/mobile phone reception. Also on parts of the hikes there is no reception. In the hut there is no WiFi (not even electricity) and if we keep our phones on airplane mode we will not be generating any radiation ourselves either. Only at some occasions we will use a bluethooth speaker.

Disclaimer

This mobile network situation was how it was in the past years and the last time we were here it was still like this. However I can’t guarantee that no telecom provider would put a new antenna somewhere that would change things. In all honesty, this is very unlikely because there is no economic interest to put extra antennas in this very empty valley.

Slow Sauna

A special guest appearance at this Permission Lab: the one-of-a-kind Crazy Camp Slow Sauna.

This isn’t your usual sweat-and-run. The Crazy Camp Slow Sauna is more of a soft gathering than a steamy sprint. The wood stove crackles, the heat builds slowly – not pushing, just inviting.

We settle in. Bodies relax. A cosy place where shoulders might touch. There might be silence. Or some laughter. Or someone quietly sharing something they didn’t know they needed to say.

No timer, no rush, no performance. Just a shared space to be warm, present, and human.

That’s enough.

Food

Cooking will be done by the group for the group; no à la carte service :) Because we are high in the mountains, our resources are limited, and we’ll all have to be flexible. If you are very precise with your food, then this is not the right experience for you, sorry.

This is an alcohol-free event. The provided drinks are non-alcoholic. Also, please don’t bring any alcoholic drinks yourself. We’ll do without external stimulants :) So no drugs as well. Only for coffee, we’ll make an exception.

All food is 100% plant based. The provided food is vegan. Also, please don’t bring any animal origin foods with you, such as meat, chicken, fish, seafood, honey, milk, yoghurt, cheese, products containing gelatine, etc. why is this? If you think you can’t do without them, this is the perfect occasion to learn how rich and fulfilling plant based nutrition can be :)

We’ll always do our best to accommodate allergies.
It is not always possible to accommodate intolerances. Please contact me to discuss (im)possibilities.

The leadership team

There’s no leadership team, no staff, no “above.”
Klaas, Kim and eventual volunteers or co-creators will be participating in this experience just like you: as a body, a story, a presence. In this adventure, we’ll live alongside you, not above you.

We’ve opened this space because it feels meaningful to do so.
Not as a service. Not as something we’re offering to you. But as something we get to step into together.

If you choose to join, we’ll hold the edges with care,
help keep the fire burning, and be there, as your fellow humans, in the unfolding of it all.

Participation fee

Your participation in the cost for these 7 days / 6 nights is EUR 699 per person for accommodation, food (that we will cook together), workshops, guided meditation sessions, sauna, and life enriching experiences. You may be qualified to receive a €100 reduction if conditions are met.

Environmental impact

The environmental impact of the Permission Lab • playful somatic mountain retreat is very small.

  • We will not use cable cars or alike during our stay.
  • Hiking trails are the only infrastructure that we use. There is very little touristic infrastructure on ‘our’ mountain.
  • There is no electricity in our cabin
  • As we live in community, we are heating much smaller volumes of spaces then what we would need individually. We will cook centrally for the group, which is way more efficient than people cooking individually at home
  • Our food is entirely plant based. Livestock farming, together with the industry that comes with it, is one of the biggest contributors to climate change and destruction of nature. By sticking to plant based nutrition, we do our taste buds and our health a favour – and we do Planet Earth as a whole a favour. Check this link for more info.
  • Our activities are not ‘gear-intensive’ and we don’t need to buy lots of materials etc.

How to get there

We will be in a very central part of Switzerland. Your International (night or day) train will probably take you to Basel, Zürich, Lausanne or Geneva; from there you’ll have to take one intercity and one local train. An international bus to Luzern would also work.

The other option is to offer or join a ride-share, for example through blablacar or with other Permission Lab participants [Read FAQ].

Here is the approximate location of the Permission Lab • playful somatic mountain retreat:

From our meeting place we will hike to the hut (max. 3 hours) but your luggage will be transported to the hut and we will try to arrange transport for the steeper part of the hike.

Switzerland is part of the Schengen agreement.

If you feel drawn to join the Permission Lab • playful somatic mountain retreat, then please use this application form or click the button below.

  • Once we’ve reviewed your application, we’ll invite you for a short video call — just to connect, and to make sure we share an understanding of what this gathering is (and isn’t).
  • You’ll receive details about how to make the advance payment [read FAQ] and about cancellation policies.
  • The advance payment is € 399 (Total fee: € 699 unless agreed otherwise)
  • Until you pay the advance payment there is no commitment – not for you and not for us
  • Please sign up for the newsletter and I’ll keep you updated about the other upcoming Crazy Camps.
Status: PLANNED
We’re gathering the circle. If 4 people apply by 30 May 2026, we can confirm the Permission Lab • playful somatic mountain retreat.
If you apply before then, you’re already co-creating the magic with us.
